Audience Feedback
For my audience feedback I constructed a sheet which enabled people to write what they liked about my music video and what they thought I needed to improve on. The good thing about this was that there were more positives then negatives/ or constructive advice. I asked three males and three females so it was a fair amount of people.
Once looking over the sheets I found these out...
Positives:
- Good range of shots
- Choice of song was good
- Locations and setting was great
- Storyline connected well with the song throughout
- Good editing
- Love the emotional storyline
- Good dark and light contrast
- Professional filming
and
- Storyline was easy to follow and understand
I was so pleased with all of this positive feedback and was proud that what I had worked so hard on turned out to be a success in the eyes of these random people.
Constructive Advice:
- Bit out of sync in places
- A bit cliche
- Male actors emotion in some places
and
- maybe a more range of style in costume
Looking back at my video I worked on the lip singing and the syncing of the song and found that I was happier with the out come. The costume I was unable to change due to all my filming already being done but I found that I still took in the constructive advice and that it helped my production become that bit more professional.
As well as this feedback, within class, I have had a number of different university students visit my class and watch my music video and their comments have been most useful as they are first hand uni students who have been there and done it and got that experience. Some of the things they mentioned was:
- They liked my storyline
- They thought the location of my shots and my actual shots were very good
BUT
- They too thought I should really focus on my timing with my singer when singing and making sure it is all really in-sync.
This definitely made me focus on the syncing of the singing and so found this helped me when seeing faults in my video, but also helped in the achievements I have made with the things that have seemed to work.
