Narration of the music video.
My music video is very much based around a story. A story of new love.
My two main actors are new to a relationship and are still in what is known as the ‘honeymoon period’. They are very much enjoying each others company and having a good time.
It can still be hard for a new relationship and we see this in my music video. The girl walks to meet the boy. As she is walking closer and closer she sees him talking to another girl. This makes her sceptical. She sees them hug and she then thinks that the boy in cheating on her.
She walks away. He looks back to see her walking away from him and he is confused and chases after her.
As they enter the girls house, she begins shouting at him and they argue. The argument gets heated and the girl walks out. This leaves the boy very angry and upset as he only wishes to show her how much she means to him.
With this, he thinks up a plan. He pours flour onto the side and draws a heart in it.
Leaving it, he walks out the door. Leaving the girl to feel sad as he has left. She wonders what he had done in the kitchen.
As she walks in, she sees the heart drawn on the kitchen side and she smiles. She thinks to herself that she needs to go get him.
She runs out of the kitchen to chase after the boy. As she opens the door, she is surprised as the boy is already standing there waiting for her.
She smiles and lets him in.
They hug in the hallway and suddenly everything is better again.
With this information we can see features from my theoretical research.
Claude Lévi-Strauss looked at the idea of having characteristics everywhere you go. You can see in my music video the stereo-typed characteristics of a female and a male.
As well as this, we can see the theory of Todorov, with his factors of a storyline.
Having a Equilibrium ( where everything is normal and happy and fine), in my music video this stands for the moment when the boy and girl are happy together and in the 'honeymoon period' walking through the forest in each other arms laughing and chatting together.
Then moving on to the Disruption (where something has happened to change the mood in a negative way), in my music video this stands for the moment the girl thinks the boy is cheating on her when she sees him hugging and chatting to the other girl.
This moves on to the New Equilibrium (where everything is resolved and happy again), in my music video this is the bit when the boy draws the heart in the flour and she realises that the argument was silly and so she chases after them and they restore there love with a hug.
